DIANE - There are things that happen that completely change your life and for me that was cancer. After being diagnosed in 1995 I decided to quit my job and find a career in something I was truly passionate about, which for me was fitness. Fitness has always been a part of my life and I loved gym workouts and group fitness classes so I began a journey to educate myself, learn and share that passion and information with others. I am a dancer. I was born and raised in Venezuela. Latin/Afro rhythms are in my blood.
I studied classical ballet and modern dance since the age of 7. I graduated from the London School of Contemporary Dance/London/England in 1974. Won a grant from the French Government to do my Masters in Dance at the Centre d'Etudes Superieurs de Danse at the Sorbonne University/ Paris/ France. I had a successful career as a dancer, and choreographer and teacher in South America, France and the U.S.A. I started teaching fitness in 1978 and was certified by ACE and AFAA. My last professional dance commitment was with the Kewing Co. at the Joyce Theatre in Manhattan, NYC/ USA in 2009.
