ERICA - NEW YORK |
Manhattan |
ERICA - After working in Finance on Wall Street for seven years, I decided to leave the fast-paced and competitive world behind and pursue my passion for exercise. Fitness has always been a part of my life and I wanted to bring it to others to incorporate into their lifestyles. As a Pilates student for several years, I loved the way the method transformed my body physically as well as the way I felt about my body emotionally. As my physique became stronger and more flexible, my confidence and mind-body connection significantly grew.
I received my Pilates certification from Core Pilates NYC upon graduating from a 6-month intensive training program in mat and apparatus-based Classical Pilates (including Pre and Post-Natal Pilates). I completed 400 hours of apprenticeship and observation throughout the training program and also received my CPR/AED certification through the American Heart Association.
I teach classes throughout Manhattan at various levels in studios and private homes. I love bringing Pilates into my students' lives and helping them feel stronger and more confident about their bodies. My passion for exercise is reflected in my teaching as I strive to constantly challenge my students while helping them meet their individual needs and goals.
QUOTE: "Fitness is a lifestyle, not an activity."

Tiffany's Impact on My Life – by Candice Harris Belfer
I will never forget the day April 5, 2010... I came head on with Head Fitness Trainer; Tiffany Yates at Fitness Ridge, Biggest Loser Resort. Ironically I had just finished her "Mountain" class. It was the first class of my first day of eight hour ASS-kicking classes that I had waited months for. I was up over 35 pounds and an emotional wreck. I also had a huge chip on my shoulder and couldn't admit that I needed to be there even if I knew I WANTED to. I was so mad at myself for failing, consumed by my home trainer who kept telling me I wasn't ever going to succeed, that I was lazy, and I had let him down. It wasn't him, it was me! I let myself down but I didn't understand it + "It" was suffocating and deafening. Tiffany saw me walking out at the end of class with tears and she insisted that I must look at the FULL view. What did that mean? Perhaps what it applies in my life today! I have been so mad at my book keeper for stealing from me this past year, and my nanny who has been critically ill in the hospital that I forgot to take care of myself. Then, my friend Jen Morton calls to tell me that Tiffany is dedicating an Iron Man for me and I quickly remembered how strong I really am. I must continue to repeat this to myself and begin to live it: "Tiffany, I got this. I know what to do. You gave me everything I need so it's time to do it!"
